Election Day 4.02 is now available in the downloads section! This new version is pretty well debugged and includes 2008 Presidential candidates. We're still having issues with the website, however, so things may be changing day-to-day and there may be service interruptions.
PLEASE NOTE: We've upgraded from v 3.02 to v 4.02, and this new version should come with all files needed to run Election Day. If it doesn't work, please email election@u.washington.edu.
At this point, the game lacks realism in a few respects, but that will improve as it becomes easier for players to create their own custom scenarios and candidates. As you play the new version, you'll find that you can save candidates and campaigns, which you'll be able to share in the "Game Mods" portion of the downloads section (look for more information on this toward the middle of September). We're also continuing to work on the code to make the underlying probabilities and equations more realistic.
Registration Problems: If you are having trouble registering, please e-mail us at election@u.washington.edu. Before e-mailing for help, please make sure that cookies are enabled in your browser and personal firewall and that you've submitted the correct e-mail.
In case you were wondering... the Election Day project is always a work-in-progress. If you have comments, feedback, or just want to say hello, please feel free to use the forum or email us at election@washington.edu so we can incorporate your ideas into the development of the site.
